Kung Pao Krunch

If you enjoy stir-fry sensations, you'll love this spicy ACT II® Microwave Popcorn snack mix seasoned with ginger and garlic.


Makes: 12 cups


Ingredients:
12 c. popped ACT II® Microwave Popcorn, Butter flavor (approx. 3 bags) 1 (3 oz.) can LaChoy® Chow Mein Noodles
1/2 c. party peanuts
2 c. dark corn syrup
1/3 c. sesame seeds
1 tbsp. oriental sesame oil
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper


Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the popped corn with chow mein noodles and peanuts and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring the corn syrup to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Boil rapidly 7 minutes then remove from the heat.
  4. Working quickly, stir in the remaining ingredients.
  5. Pour over the popped corn mixture, tossing gently to coat.
  6. Evenly spread the coated corn onto greased wax paper.
  7. Using two forks, pull popcorn mixture as thinly as possible; allow to cool before breaking into smaller pieces.
  8. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
