Popcorn Thanksgiving Turkey Treats

The perfect activity for restless young ones around Thanksgiving, you can also make these colorful and delicious birds any time of the year with any of our great popcorn ball recipes or with ACT II® Popcorn Balls.

Materials needed:
Popcorn Balls (from ACT II® recipes) or ACT II® Popcorn Balls
Peanut butter cup candy miniatures (for head)
Butterscotch chips (beak)
Candy corn (gobbler)
Small pretzels (feet)
Decorator frosting
Colored paper
Toothpicks
Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Cut several feathers from colored papers. Poke toothpicks in and out through the bottom of each feather leaving half the toothpick sticking out. Poke the toothpick on each feather into the back of the popcorn ball making two rows of feathers one behind the other.
  2. Unwrap peanut butter cup; using decorator frosting, glue the widest side of the peanut butter cup to the turkey for the head. Using a toothpick, poke two dents in the top of the peanut butter cup for the eyes.
  3. Using frosting, glue a butterscotch chip onto peanut butter cup for beak, and glue candy corn to bottom of cup for the gobbler.
  4. Finally, use frosting to glue two pretzels to the bottom of ball for the feet. Enjoy your ACT II® turkey!

In the U.S. last year, ACT II sold the equivalent of three bags of popcorn per American.
