Make Pictures With Popcorn

Perfect for a slumber party or small group afternoon activity and with just a few simple materials, you can make a picture using popcorn. Add a little imagination and the possibilities are endless!

Materials needed:
ACT II® Microwave Popcorn, popped (approx. one bag per picture)
Construction paper
Scissors
Craft glue
Crayons or markers
Sequins, sparkles, puffy paint, or other craft materials

Instructions:

  1. Pop up bags of ACT II® Microwave Popcorn and transfer to large bowl.
  2. Use your imagination and cut construction paper into assorted shapes or sizes and draw outlines for your picture. Try your favorite animal, favorite toy - anything!
  3. Use glue to decorate your shape. Try making fluffy clouds, fur on animals, or even leaves on trees!
  4. Add sequins, sparkles, ribbons, or other craft materials, as desired.
  5. Let your creation dry on a safe, flat surface.
  6. Draw other features with crayons or puffy paint to finish off your popcorn picture.
  7. Display your masterpiece!

Need a few ideas to get you started?

  • How about gluing a small round cluster of popcorn in the middle of your paper. Draw a sheep head and legs to create a fluffy sheep!
  • Glue popcorn cloud shapes along the top of your paper and draw a rainy day scene.
  • Cut a pan shape out of one piece of construction paper and glue it to the bottom of another sheet of construction paper. Glue on pieces of popcorn that are popping out of the pan all over the rest of the paper!
Last year, ACT II sold the equivalent of one cup of popcorn for every living person on earth.
